PERSONAL PROTECTION AND DISPOSAL MEASURES
PERSONAL PROTECTION EQUIPMENT:
Respiratory protection: Wear NIOSH certified respirator or equivalent for airborne dust.
Hand protection: Personnel should wear cloth gloves.
Eye protection: Goggles/safety glasses with side shields should be worn.
Other protective clothing: Wear loose fitting, long sleeve shirt and pants.
Spill/Leak Procedures:
Following routine housekeeping procedures. If sweeping is necessary, use a dust suppressant and place material in closed containers. Avoid creating airborne dust. Do not use compressed air for clean up. Personnel should wear gloves, goggles and approved respirator.
Waste Disposal Method:
According to local law requirements, provincial, federal and/or state.
Handling:
Avoid breathing airborne dust during the usage of this product. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Use normal personal hygiene to remove material contaminants.
Storage Conditions:
Store in original factory packaging in a dry area. Keep packaging closed when not in use.
SECTION VII - TOXICOLOGICAL INFORMATION
Primary Entry Route: Nose and/or throat, skin and eyes.
Acute Effects: Upper respiratory physical irritation. Irritation and inflammation to the eyes on contact and to the skin on prolonged contact.
Chronic Effects: No significant association was found between fiber exposure and lung cancer or nonmalignant respiratory disease, in the man-made vitreous fiber-manufacturing environment.
Carcinogenicity: IARC-Group 3
Signs and Symptoms of Overexposure: SKIN: Physical irritation - rash
EYES: Physical irritation - inflammation
INGESTION: May cause temporary irritation to the gastrointestinal tract.
INHALATION: Irritation or soreness in throat, nose and respiratory tract.
SECTION VIII - FIRST AID MEASURES
Eye Contact: *Flush with large amounts of water for at least 15 minutes. Do not rub eyes.
Skin Contact: *Wash affected area gently with soap and water. Skin cream or lotion after washing may be helpful.
Inhalation: *Remove affected person to clean fresh air.
* If any of the symptoms persists, seek medical attention.
